Detailed: https://comparethetire.com/bfgoodrich-trail-terrain-t-a-vs-ko2/ The BF Goodrich Trail Terrain is the newest all-terrain tire, which is more on-road oriented, but how good is it? And can it outperform BFG KO2? Well, we are about to find out, but first, please make make sure you subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss out on anything, and visit comparethetie.com to find all the other comparisons including this one. The BFG Trail Terrain is a very gripping tire to have on roads, the tire offers a rounded contact patch, so most of its weight is emphasized towards the middle and since blocks are pretty closed up together over there, it offers a much better directional grip compared to KO2. Same goes for its cornering capabilities, where it’s continuous running shoulder ribs provide consistent rubber to road contact allowing for superior handling times and steering response. Though it only goes when things are dry, as in wet conditions, its not able to outperform KO2. And BFG KO2 isn’t that great to begin with. On wet roads, you basically need water evacuation, so with closed up shoulder lugs on BFG Trail Terrian, water cant not escape out as easily especially through sideways. And less water getting out means more water is there for sipes to deal with. And so overall wet traction is compromised. The BFG KO2 on the other side, offers decent hydroplaning resistance, as it’s tread is pretty self-cleaning, with a formed network of channels in the middle connected with wider shoulder gaps on edges. Its shoulder lugs are also embedded with bold stone ejectors, allowing it to be great off-road even on muddy tracks. Though its performance on rocky terrains is much more considerable. On rocks, KO2 basically having an interlocking design providing grip in all directions and helping that, are it’s full depth notches and sipes which split open the blocks creating additional biting. And although both tires have staggered blocks and very similar sidewall designs, the BFG KO2 still offers bigger traction scoops, and its sidewall lugs are pasted on a larger surface area, so with lowered air pressure, the tire is able to provide much better footprint and along with-it lateral traction. Durability is also a key factor and here KO2 being the toughest tire in all-terrain category provides you with 3 ply polyester construction, making it very resistant to punctures. The BFG Trail Terrain on the other side, only offers 2 ply casing and a single nylon reinforcement. Though with less plies, it weight gets to be pretty light and this explains why its so great with fuel consumption, generating such low rolling resistance values. And this also improves it's overall wear life. Though it only gets 10k more miles in warranty comparatively. That's because its compound is relatively softer, and tire does not have good enough tread depth. Nonetheless, the tire is designed in a way, that it gets to perform great on snowy terrains. As with softer compound, the tire basically offers better resistance to stiffness on extreme winter temperatures. And although both tires come with 3 peak mountain snowflake ratings, it’s rubber stays much more flexible like winter tires. Allowing sipes to efficiently bite in to the snow. Though with wider grooves the bf Goodrich KO2 does better with deeper terrains. Lastly if we talk tire sizes. The BF Goodrich KO2 comes in total of 91 sizes whereas BFG Trail Terrain comes in 44. Both are available in 15 to 22 inches wheel diameter, and have following specs. Thanks for watching, and Subscribe for our upcoming ones.
